About the LMT 2.0
Body
The officially licensed body is securely mounted to the chassis with an easy “twist-lock” and flips forward for easy access to the battery tray. Each body style features a molded internal roll cage and comes equipped with a driver figure.
Chassis & Suspension
The machined twin plate chassis comes powder-coated – blue on Sun-uva Digger and green on Grave Digger. The updated two piece axle housing, 4-link mounts, and larger 6x15x5mm pinion bearings increase strength and durability. The LMT 2.0 has eight shocks, just like full-size monster trucks, and features internal springs to mimic the full-sized trucks. With wider offset 2.6” wheels and slightly taller tires, the Losi LMT 2.0 appears much more dominating and scaled than its predecessor. The faux beadlocks can be removed or painted to give your monster truck a custom look.
Electronics
The most exciting addition to the LMT 2.0 is one you’ll have to DRIVE to believe. DRIVE (Dynamic Response Intelligent Vehicle Envelope) is an innovative Spektrum receiver technology that, in Freestyle Mode, enables the LMT 2.0 to hold wheelies, do stoppies, and even “Bicycle” on two wheels just like your Monster Jam™ favorites! Brought to you by Spektrum DRIVE Technology, Freestyle Mode lets you experience firsthand what it’s like to be a monster truck driver.
Trick Mode 1 – “Bicycle”
The Surface you drive on is very important to successfully performing stunts. Rough or Smooth Concrete (not polished) is the ideal surface for learning on as they both provide higher grip. When learning to “Bicycle”, the tires must first be broken-in. To break-in the tires, turn the target angle knob all the way counter-clockwise and drive the truck in circles slowly increasing the speed. This will start to wear the tires on the top chevron closest to the sidewall, this may take a battery pack or two to fully break-in. Now that your tires are broke-in, increase the target angle knob to about 10 o’clock. Turn the wheels completely in one direction and slowly increase the throttle until the inside tires start to lift off the ground. For best results, try to maintain steady throttle and steering inputs as the truck rocks up into a “Bicycle”.
Trick Mode 2 – Wheelie Mode
Just like Mode 1, the surface is key to learning Mode 2. Rough or Smooth Concrete is also ideal. To do a “Stoppie”, you want to get the weight to transfer to the front of the truck. You do not need to be going super fast, just enough for the back tires to start coming off the ground. From 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, apply full brakes. This is where the electronics will begin to work, and the truck will try to balance on the nose. Be sure to have a large area while practicing so you do not run into anything. When practicing nose tricks, one key is to hold the brakes as long as possible until the system is not applying much input. You can then modulate the brake input between neutral and full brakes to help balance the truck.
With both Trick Modes, patience and perseverance are key. The tricks are not automatic and do require trial and error to master. Think about it this way: Dennis and Ryan Anderson didn’t learn this overnight.
